Tipton Town Centre Regeneration Consultation

Overview

In early 2022, the Government announced the Levelling Up Fund and invited councils to bid for a share of these funds. Sandwell Council prepared and submitted a bid for Tipton Town Centre.

In the 2023 Spring Budget statement it was announced that Sandwell had been successful and was awarded £20m in Levelling Up funding to deliver 65 new affordable homes. The project will involve the redevelopment of under-utilised and lower quality residential and commercial premises which will be redeveloped to deliver new high-quality residential properties.

Sandwell Council is pleased to share with you proposals to redevelop Tipton Town Centre and we encourage you to comment on and shape the proposals where possible.

The initial proposals seek to deliver the following outputs:

• 65 high quality and affordable apartments
• Introduction of more green spaces
• Creation of high quality public spaces
• Improved safety for motorist and pedestrians
