A place of evolution: Change should draw on the unique threads of character of each of the six towns whilst embracing innovation and invention.

Throughout history the borough’s towns have continually and significantly changed. That change has not been sentimental, rather it has been practical – responding to economic and social needs. At times of intense change some important threads of local identity and heritage have been lost.  The vision for the borough is to ensure going forward that new development is informed by locally valued character and needs alongside embracing change and new opportunities.
