Hydes Road Playing Fields WLUP Consultation

Overview

As part of the Wednesbury Levelling Up Partnership Sandwell Council is inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to have their say on plans to improve Hydes Road Pavilion and Playing Fields.

The Playing Fields are a really important asset for the Community to use for a mix of both sporting and passive recreation.  The project aims to improve the Green Space, refurbish the existing Pavilion and ensure that the site is used for future generations.

The current draft proposals include the refurbishment of the Pavilion including:

• Refurbished Building Externals
• Refurbished toilet facilites
• New Community Space / Meeting Room
• Improved Changing and Shower facilities
• More energy efficent options for Heating

The proposals for the Playing Fields include:

• Improvements to Football Pitches
• Improvements to Car Park
• Bins, Benches and Noticeboards
• Planting Scheme including new Trees

These proposals are not final and your feedback will inform the next stages of the project. Following consultation, we expect construction works to start later in 2024 with completion in spring 2025.
